ARTIST STATEMENT
I hope to inspire audiences to look beyond the surface through my art; to question norms and discover beauty in unexpected places – to evoke emotions, provoke thought and dialogue, ultimately serving as a testament to the rich tapestry of human experience. As an artist, I am constantly experimenting with new techniques and materials and evolving. This evolution mirrors my own journey of self-discovery and growth. I believe art has the power to transcend boundaries and communicate across cultures and languages, fostering empathy and understanding. Intuition, meditation, the subconscious, and deep-rooted emotions converge with and spark my imagination, guiding and buoying my creative process.
Furthermore, my art delves into the realm of mysticism and is a reflective exploration of the unseen forces around us. Within the sphere of Abstraction, I endeavor to create a visual language that transcends the tangible and allows me to explore the ethereal.
My artwork is an invitation to enter a universe where emotions take shape and find expression through the luminous interplay of color and form; an indubitable exploration of the joy, passion, and invigorating vitality that colour can awaken within all of us. Vibrant colors transform intangible stories of the unseen and sacred into a visual and tangible form.
Each of my compositions proffers a spiritual glimpse into the infinite, endeavoring to awaken the mystic residing in the heart and mind of each viewer. I believe art is a universal medium that builds bridges of understanding between myriad cultures in an endeavour to unify our world and create an appreciation of beauty in all its transmutative forms.
I invite you to join me on this artistic and mystical journey…
THE KAABA SERIES
The Holy Kaaba with its pure and timeless form is an indelibly powerful symbol of unity, faith and devotion in the Muslim world. Abstraction allows me to transcend the tangible representation of the Holy Kaaba and delve into its spiritual essence. Geometric patterns, texture and colour are the artistic tools I utilize to express the Holy Kaaba’s transcendence. Visually, I seek to capture the rhythms of the pilgrimage; the whisper of the prayers, and the collective yearning of the faithful.
